Coaching |
For us, this is the real business end of 360 feedback. That tricky bit we talk about elsewhere on the site. It's all very well encouraging people to give and receive feedback about behaviour but, whichever way you dress it up, it's personal. And when things get personal, we can become a little uncomfortable, uneasy and maybe defensive. If we don't work through those feelings, the feedback (positive or negative) ends up in the 'too difficult' box. And nothing happens. If you're not supporting 360 feedback with coaching, then in our book, you're not doing it properly. 360 feedback without a follow up debrief (coaching if you will) is like a starter without the main course. The trailers without the main feature. A good night kiss without… [That's enough. Webmaster] We can provide coaching support (click on Coaching Process for details) or can train up your own people to do it. Either way, we want to make sure that when people receive feedback they are not left wondering 'OK, so now what do I do?' |
